Refractor Telescopes
The refractor is the oldest telescope design.Galileo used it 400 years ago and was the founder of this telescope, it is simply a concave (curved) lens which focuses light to a exact point. The aberration introduced by using a single lens can be largely eliminated by using a design using two or more lenses. This is the design used in modern refractor telescopes. Refracting telescopes use lenses to gather light and focus it to the eyepiece.

Newtonian Reflectors Telescopes
The Newtonian telescope is a reflecting telescope invented by the British scientist Isaac Newton, using a concave primary mirror and a flat diagonal secondary mirror which directs the light to a convenient viewing position on the side of the telescope.

Catadioptrics Telescopes
The Catadioptrics telescope is a telescope that uses a combination of mirrors and lenses to increase the effective focal length of the telescope while allowing it to be folded into a more convenient and compact size. In this this telescope refraction and reflection lenses are combined in a telescope, as well as curved mirrors (concave or convex). Catadioptric telescopes are used in focusing systems such as search lights, headlamps, early lighthouse focusing systems and microscopes.
